Introducing you to some of our Group Leaders :
Here you can meet Andrew, Pascale, Martine, Georges, Marie Line, and now Kerry Ann!
Time to meet some of Anglais Plaisir’s stars / group leaders.
First of all, here’s Andrew.
Andrew Stephens
Native English speaker.
British (Welsh) but it doesn’t bother the English
Communications Leader by day .
Hobbies :
Tennis, Walking, Travel, French wines, Geopolitics (a fascinating subject which goes down well whilst eating Marmite on toast).
“I have lived in France for over 20 years and I am married to my French wife, Camille and we have 1 teenage son. “
“I joined Anglais Plaisir to help others maintain their English conversation confidently and with ease, and to promote Wales, the land of songs and poetry.
I have been a group leader and , being a working man, I often deputise for other group leaders who sometimes jet off to sunnier climes in the winter. Oh the pleasures of retirement for some”

Pascale Parent
Background: French, born in Canada and raised in California!
Family: I’ll be celebrating my 40th wedding anniversary with Henry this year. We have two daughters and one grandson.
Job: After 42 years at IBM, I retired last year and am enjoying my free time.
Hobbies: Pottery/ceramics, quilting, yardstick collecting, and traveling (especially my yearly trips to
Redondo Beach, California)
I enjoy facilitating the Anglais Plaisir sessions which bring together people from a wide variety of
backgrounds. We get some very interesting conversations when there’s a rocket scientist, a teenager
preparing entrance exams, and a retired doctor in the same room!
Our informal conversations enable people to practice their English in a fun and relaxed environment.

Martine Chailleux:
A non-native English speaker...A French lady who studied English at University to become an English teacher at that time when students had to study American or British History and Litterature and practice Oral skills in listening and singing Beatles’ or other British or American Rock and Pop groups’songs.
Several stays in the UK.
Nowadays retired after more than 38 years teaching children
Even if it isn’t obvious on the photo, I spend a large part of the year in my holiday home in
Brittany
I like reading, travelling, hiking, acting (member of a non-professional theater-group)
Married to a non-English speaker, have a daughter and a granddaughter, happy to practice
English with adults in AP Association in a friendly atmosphere where we share ideas and
points of view in such a likable way...
Georges Chasseuil: Anglais Plaisir's President
Bio:
French - nobody is perfect !
Family : Married with Patricia we have two sons.
From a first marriage I also have one son and two grandchildren
Jobs : Now retired I spent my professional life in International Companies mostly in the Drink Industry and had the great opportunity to work a couple of years in Scotland, of course in the whisky business.
Hobbies: Too many but the two major are definitely playing bridge and running . I also love wine tasting with friends and having a wee dram with them.
I joined Anglais Plaisir 6 years ago to refresh my English but quickly became a group leader. It is a real pleasure to share with members of different ages and backgrounds, coming from a large variety of regions and even countries
Kerry Ann Precious
Background: American, born in Boston, Massachusetts and lived in the heart of New York City (Upper East Side) for 12 years prior to accepting an international work assignment in 2013 located in Paris with my former employer.
Family: My only family in France is my French husband Yannick who I met during my work assignment and my reason for remaining in France. His roots are from the Breton/Pays de Loire region. No children or pets planned for the future.
Job: Former Finance / HR Compliance & Audit Controls Director in the Beauty/Cosmetics industry with a masters in Accountancy. However, upon my decision to remain in France, I decided to pursue a more Artisanal path by sourcing, upcycling and selling Vintage Home décor on the ETSY e-commerce site.
Hobbies: Considering my previous active work/travel life (traveled and worked from 55 plus countries), I have already accomplished a lot of the items on my bucket list. Although, I still love to travel but now enjoy traveling within France to explore different regions, expand my knowledge of French Culture and of course taste all the yummy food/wine.
I love DIY Bricolage projects such as refinishing small furniture pieces using creative techniques and natural finishes. I would say I appreciate the process of taking someone else’s trash and making it a treasure for me or someone else. I am learning upholstery and excited to start upcycling more furniture. I also enjoy photography, vinyasa yoga and recently learned how to cook.
Thanks to my neighbor Marie-Line Bonilauri, I will be sharing the facilitation of her Level 2 Tuesday night group starting in September 2022. Looking forward to sharing my American style and language with this class and feel it will equally benefit my continued integration in France by engaging more often with native French speakers.
Marie Line Bonilauri
French citizen with Italian origines (inheritance of my father.)
Laurent, my companion is French, ‘Breton’......sorry he can’t help it . We have been together for over 38 years and have 2 sons together but no grand children yet.
I am an ex IBMer, like some others from Anglais Plaisir and I am also a retiree enjoying my free time after 30 years working for IBM.
‘Bonne vivante’ I love cooking and entertaining, getting together with my friends and enjoying a nice glass of wine on a terrasse !
Reading is also one my hobbies, I read mainly English books, fiction, thrillers etc...on my kindle. And last but not least, I very much appreciate traveling, discovering new places in France and abroad.
I joined Anglais Plaisir in 2015 and I thoroughly enjoy my role as moderator of a Level 2 group. My group’s members are great, very enthusiastic and fun to be with each week.
